FM Launches FM Intellium Program to Address Evolving Risks in Data Centers and Power Generation

Commercial property insurer FM has announced the launch of the FM Intellium program, a new initiative designed to support clients in navigating the rapidly evolving risks driven by the artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing boom.
As these technologies fuel a significant increase in data center development, FM aims to provide innovative solutions to address the growing infrastructure demands and associated risks.
The surge in AI and cloud computing is contributing to an accelerated rise in data center construction. According to ResearchAndMarkets, data center construction in North America is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 8.1% through 2030.
This expansion will require substantial power generation and infrastructure, presenting new challenges that FM is ready to address with its enhanced engineering and loss prevention resources.
New Initiatives to Support Global Clients
To better serve its clients, FM has introduced a virtual on-demand resource unit that can quickly mobilize subject matter experts (SMEs) to respond to inquiries from around the globe.
By integrating data risk management with power and infrastructure projects, FM can offer a comprehensive approach to managing operational risks, whether during ongoing operations or before construction begins.
This holistic approach is designed to provide clients with confidence in the resilience of their data centers and associated power generation systems.
Randy Hodge, FM’s Chief Operating Officer, said, “With the continuing migration to cloud computing and expansion of AI, data centers demand complete operational confidence. FM has the expertise to ensure resilience and prevent losses for even more clients in these crucial sectors.”
He added, “We see a significant opportunity to bring our research, engineering and loss prevention expertise to help clients and the broader industry as these technologies increase and evolve."
