HCLTech, a leading global technology company, has officially signed the European Commission's AI Pact, underscoring its commitment to the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The AI Pact, a voluntary framework introduced by the European Commission, encourages organizations to adopt ethical AI practices ahead of the full implementation of the EU's AI Act, the first comprehensive legal framework for AI.

A Commitment to Trustworthy AI

As part of the AI Pact, signatories are required to take proactive steps in ensuring that AI systems meet the high standards set by the European Commission, focusing on safety, transparency, and human oversight.

By signing this pact, we're reinforcing our commitment to trustworthy development, deployment and use of AI systems and technologies, thus ensuring that they truly benefit society while minimizing risks and promoting transparency.”

Key Commitments by HCLTech

By joining the AI Pact, HCLTech has committed to implementing a robust AI governance strategy to drive responsible AI adoption across the organization while preparing for compliance with the upcoming AI Act.

As part of this commitment, the company will identify and map AI systems that may fall under the high-risk category as defined by the Act. Additionally, HCLTech aims to promote AI awareness and literacy among its workforce by introducing training programs focused on ethicaland responsible AI practices.

HCLTech has already embedded responsible AI practices across its operations, focusing on key areas such as accountability, fairness, security, privacy, and transparency. These practices ensure the responsible use of AI technologies internally and with clients.

To further its mission, HCLTech has established an Office of Responsible AI and Governance. This office leads the development and implementation of responsible AI practices within the company and across its product and service offerings.
